Description

I love these Cheesy Crab Rangoons!! Once you start eating these it’s very hard to stop. Make sure to double or triple my recipe to get enough for you and everyone else your feeding. I hope you like this easy homemade crab rangoon recipe as much as I do. Happy cooking! Xoxo

Ingredients
  • 125 grams cream cheese (approximately half a brick)
  • 1/2 cup imitation or real crab meat (shredded/chopped small)
  • 1/2 cup marble cheese (shredded)
  • 3 tbsp green onion (only green parts-finely sliced)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 24 sheets wonton wrappers
  • 3 tbsp water (for sealing wrappers)
  • neutral flavour oil (for frying)
Instructions
  1. In a bowl combine the cream cheese, crab, marble cheese, green onion, salt, garlic powder, sugar, and sesame oil.

  2. Separate the wonton sheets. Lay a wonton sheet down on a flat surface and place a small spoonful of the crab mixture into the centre of the wonton sheet.

  3. Brush the perimeter of the wonton sheet with a little bit of water.

  4. Fold into a flower, pyramid or keep it simple and fold it over to make triangles. Make sure to pinch all the edges shut/together. Watch my video recipe to see the different ways I folded them.

    Pyramid Shape:

    Here is the flower shape:

  5. Heat some neutral flavour frying oil in a pot over medium heat. Fry the crab rangoons until they are a deep golden brown. Approximately 3 minutes.

  6. Remove from the oil and place onto some paper towel for a few minutes before plating and serving. I like to serve these with sweet chili sauce. Enjoy!

Note

Crab:

I am using imitation crab meat in this recipe however it can easily be swapped out for fresh crab meat as well.

Wonton wrappers:

You can find wonton wrappers at almost every grocery store these days. If it is hard to find at your local grocery store than your local asian grocery store will definitely have them.

Sugar:

I like my crab rangoons with a slight sweetness which is why I add sugar. If you want your Rangoon’s more on the savoury side - you can reduce the amount of sugar or omit it completely.
